That means is a mix of polycarbonate and ABS and wont di...

Re: Need #9176272 shifter cables, 1998 V70 manual, for senior w/ cancer
I have a spare set I can offer. They came from an 850 manual. Where can I find the part # to verify on the cables? The ends at the transmission side are a little rusty but will clean up nicely. The rubber boots on the ends are intact with no tears. If I can verify the part # I can box up and ship. Tim

Headlight Wiper Actuator Repair
Late last year I disassembled and repaired the drivers side headlight wiper actuator in my 2000 V70. I took some photos of the process but haven't posted them anywhere until now. There are tutorials online about how to get the actuators out of the car. The component that fails is the solid state fus...

Re: XC90 rear differential replacement - questions
I would say any "used" unit you buy is going to have a failing Pinion Bearing. I bought a unit off eBay $558 CarPartsInc, Pittsburgh PA the the pinion bearing was failing. I am in the process of rebuilding the unit with new Bearings, Seals. Had to purchase the Pinion Nut Tool off Amazon at...

Re: '98 S-70 turbo
I looked into this for the 850 series in 2020... don't know if the 1998 70 series is the same: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=93975 According the the Haynes manual for the 850 (may be different than the 1998 S70), the coil primary should read between 0.5 to 1.5 Ohms and the...

Re: '98 S-70 turbo
Primary refers to the resistance between the two lug terminals. Secondary refers to the resistance between the Coil tower (plug leading to the Distributor and case ground. You should consider resistance measurements as necessary but not sufficient, data to confirm a good part, ie values in spec mean...

Re: A $100 '99 V70 GLT
Decided to tackle the drivers side door issues today. A previous owner had sprung the door so badly that it had scuffed the door trim on the fender, as well as making a hellacious noise when being opened or closed. When I took the door off, I found a gaping hole where half of the door check should b...

Re: 04 v70, oil leak+no vac at dipstick
So I'll close this thread out with the oil leak resolved. The exhaust hub had a lot of play and both front oil seals were bottomed out. So that was the leak. What I accomplished this weekend: - front and rear camshaft oil seals - exhaust hub replaced - intake hub reinstalled with new o-ring. Timing ...
