Re: Sudden Hesitation and Stalling 1999 V70R
I think that you need a good scanner or vida dice and some time to work through those issues. Question if the spike in current or disconnected terminal created short circuit somewhere in electronic system. Incorporating some advice from above: 1. Move car to the area where you can work on it. 2. Rem...

Re: 1999 S70 GLT - Suggestions on broken lugnuts
i got it taken care of. I sprayed both with blaster last night and again today. I removed the calliper, bracket and rotor. Unfortunately there was nothing to grab on to, so I went the way of an easy out. When I drilled the first one, the bit caught and ended up screwing the remainign stud out the ba...

Re: Vida CEM swapping
I tested around 10 versions of my TCM map changes. I have to say, they did not have the result I expected, which was to reduce the bumps, odd shifting of sticky solenoids. That being said I have more or less identified the main loop of the TCM, I know how it roughly executes things. I know which int...

Re: Set screws for an electric scooter - question on what/where to buy
These look like standard SET SCREWS. They may be Metric or SAE threads depending on country of design. Just match the thread size and the length. Set screws come in different tip designs - flat, serrated, and dog end (a smaller diameter smooth end). Examine the mating part to see if there is a small...

Re: 2005 V70 2.5t AWD ticking/rattling
Jack the car up and see if you can turn the propshaft. If it turns independent of the transmission it will be the collar sleeve or bevel gear splines. You'll have to get all fours off the ground, may also be bevel gear pinion bearing but that will also be evidenced by gear oil leakage where the outp...

Re: Cherry Red XC90 D5 with 364,000kms
Parking brake cables are being replaced why? This vehicle has a really weird way of tightening up the e-brake, it's a huge pain in the behind. If you're doing brakes, you can pull the "H" link and replace with a manual adjuster, tighten up the e-brake from time to time with a screwdriver i...

Re: Starting problem on '98 S-70
Most likely suspect is low fuel pressure. It can be due to the fact that backflow preventer valve is weak and pressure just dropps to 0psi after you turned off the car and let is stay for an hour or so. Could be fuel pressure regulator being at fault. Could be weak pump or weak Amp at the pump. If I...

Spartacus Rim Repair and Paint Match - Info
Hi folks I was repairing my Spartacus wheels - major curb rash on the spokes and lip edge of the wheel from prior owner. Ugly! Used bondo and wet and dry sanding, ending with custom-ordered matching paint after reading forum after forum on what color this was. I ordered Silver color 936 and primer a...

Re: Alternator or battery cables or starter or 96 850 NA
Or check if there is a parasitic draw. That can also be caused by a bad alternator too. Sounds more like a battery drain issue than a bad starter. Sure a bad starter could cause a problem with starting, but it would be an unusual fault where it is draining the battery unless the solenoid is sticking...
