XC70 P2 handbrake leather replacement
PXL_20250628_103703530.jpg I have XC70 2004 AWD 2.5T. I couldn't find any instructions of how to replace the old leather of the handbrake leather so I took some photos. There are two frames that hold the leather in place. You need to separate those. Mine were clued / plastic welded so I had to use ...

Re: Brake caliper brackets - 06 XC70
So again I answer my own question. So the caliper brackets that came with these reman units are wrong they are for fitting the 305mm diameter rotors and I'm convinced they would not fit inside the original rims as were fitted to this car from new. We bought the car from Volvo in 2011 for 50k miles o...

Re: Cheaper Aftermarket exhaust hangers?
Sorry, but nowadays $60 for oem part for the car that is 24 years old is a great bargain. As far as I am aware, no aftermarket option is available. No point to go to junkyard and waste 3-4 hours of life ti find that those parts are rusted as well.

I used a mix of both solutions -> fat allen key between subframe and frame, jack to push up and 3D printed tool to make the job easy and protect the bushing. All 4 bushings were fitted super fast. It ...

Re: Sales, discounts, and obscure parts direct from Volvo
Independence Day sales are coming. Get your shopping lists ready and hold off on buying until this weekend. Both FCP and usparts.volvocars.com should have their second best sales of the year (after Cyber Monday).

Re: Renting a BYD in Austria for the week..
Do you think US manufacturers are not subsidized? They more or less write the EPA MPG laws, among other home-court advantages. Without the US world hegemony that keeps oil prices low, what would happen to the Big Three? They only make money on large SUVs and full size trucks. Yes, Ford is completel...

Re: 2011 XC60 T6 160k miles seized engine?
T6 engine is not easy to service. You have nothing to loose. Feel free to start with cutting the belt and removing it. Charge battery or put a booster pack(if available) and try to start. If nothing changed-remove the spark plugs and try to start the engine with starter. If it is not turning-....you...

Axle shaft & seal? (2004 XC70)
Pulling the axle to replace - hoping to get to the subframe bushings and motor mounts next.
Advice on the seal? I did some light scraping with a pick.

Re: Axle shaft & seal? (2004 XC70)
In.
The old one was just a hair in from flush, so I tried to match that.
