Change your FOB battery 2016 XC90
Well my wife reported that her FOB was no longer working properly after a dealer software update. The car was brought back to the dealer and they found out that it was missing an antenna. After a few days the new antenna was installed and the FOB still did not function. She could not lock her car fo...

Re: Any feedback on Elevate? (looking at tunes for my 2.5T)
Installed ARD's ST1 tune and it's really nice. More power when you want it and still very smooth. Lucky has been very responsive to emails.
Now I just have to work with him to get the torque limitation in 1st and 2nd gear removed. Seems like it will be straightforward.

Re: Adjusting the ebrake on my XC90 - How to?
Hi - I have a 2004 XC90 2.5T and I just successfully adjusted the ebrake cable this morning following the posted Volvo instructions: "XC90_Parking_Brake_Adj.pdf". I would like to point out that I believe that the instruction step: "Screw the socket clockwise so that the groove for the...

Re: Home Made Short Ram Intake
My 2 cents for using an open filter on our engines. I bought one with a massive velocity stack which aids in increasing the incoming air speed. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/909/41305298374_b236b85695_o.jpg Volvo S80 2.4T Fitting a Velocity Stack Open Cone Filter by Andy Ramdin , on Flickr https://...

Re: XC90 Fuel Tank Sabotaged need removal or cleaning advice
THE IN-SITU TANK CLEANING PROCESS All right. I finally had time to address the sabotaged fuel tank. When I removed the pump the second time it was full of crystals and plant debris again. The fuel pump basket was choked full of the plant material . As the tank siphon pump was filling the basket, the...

Re: XC90 Fuel Tank Sabotaged need removal or cleaning advice
Probably the last thing you will want to do before reassembling the back interior is connect an OBD tool (either VIDA or a tool that displays live data), Have a passenger watch the fuel pressure as reported through CAN data as you do a hard acceleration/WOT up to highway speed. It should stay firm a...

Re: 1998 Volvo V70 X/C fuel pump location
Found the sad answer to that question. TWO pumps and must drop entire rear sub-frame. What a terrible design.

Is your car ticking? Check the exhaust manifold gasket.
Last autumn I had a weird ticking sound coming from the car. No other symptoms. Drove well. No codes. Eventually I put my hand behind the engine by chance and felt puffs of warm air. Turned out one bolt from the manifold had fallen out and one of the gaskets was sitting slightly off. A new bolt late...

Re: Buying used (not CPO) from a dealer far away
I learned a bit on the internet this evening: - Same brand ("franchise") dealers get better picks of used cars through customer trades and dealer auctions - Some have standards for what they will allow/sell on their lots and are more likely to do repairs to get vehicles up to snuff to pres...
