Re: volvo airbag delete

Carefull....resistance measuring with a multimeter can lead to airbag deploy!
There is a statement about that, somewhere in Volvo SRS documents.
No measurements of any kind should be performed in SRS system.

Re: The official "Ive driven to Moon" Thread for P80..and P2..and anyone else.

Favorite moon is a full moon. Nothing better than a full moon. I know that the rule is “a single car”. My whole family is on this trip. So, here is the list. 1998 V70R 220k and some change. I have done nothing to this one except general maintenance. My son connected it with an asteroid, or some spac...

Re: The official "Ive driven to Moon" Thread for P80..and P2..and anyone else.

99 V70 T5 manual, 273k and counting, bought at around 229k. I'm currently prepping an 02 motor for it, during which time I'll also add an LSD, IPD sway bars, and do all the maintenance and repair work I can forward of the wing mirrors. It's turning out to be very pricey, but it should get me ready f...

Fixing Side Bolster Tears

It's pretty common on these cars to have the side bolster tear. I've been on the look out for decent seats from the Pick-Your-Parts in the area but haven't had much luck. So today before the situation gets out of hand I decided to attempt to stitch up the tear before it grows to large. JoAnn Fabrics...

Re: Motul oil doesn't burn

I'll look today, I don't recall what the stock is. Update - its labelled as ACEA A3 A4 - I don't know what that means ACEA is a European rating system. https://www.oilspecifications.org/acea.php Note: A4 isn't mentioned on the link above but it is apparently related to direct injection gas engines....

Re: Motul oil doesn't burn

I wish FCPEuro stocked redline motor oil. I'd be willing to try just for warranty returns. The price of this oil makes that policy worth the extra trouble shipping it. So far all I see is Motul 300V but their site says its racing oil and not good for daily driving. I buy mine on Amazon, free shippi...

OEM "Like" Bluetooth Microphone

Few months ago I installed an Android HeadUnit radio with all the modern infotainment features, including hands free calling. Problem is the microphone hangs from the headliner and looks bad. I remembered early versions of the S60 had a built in phone option and the doom light still has a mic grill,...

$10,000 S80 Challenge

All, I've read thru quite a few posts on this message board and others. And I have decided to see if a 2010 Volvo is as reliable as the Volvo's from the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's were know to be. Here is the challenge 1. Buy a S80 sedan 2. Fix everything that ails it, including preventative maintena...
