Re: ARD's address is now a PO Box
When I was up there he seemed pretty focused on the customers that were in and out of his shop. Not sure if he has closed that down, when I emailed them 60 days ago, I was told they are still in business. On other medians, many people were really talking bad about ARD tunes, this went on for a few y...

Re: Hey Everyone
Just wanted to chime in and say how much I enjoy this site and how much it has helped me. I appreciate how straightforward and non confrontational MVS is- many other forums can be downright hostile to newcomers. Lots of amazingly well written how tos, generally helpful mechanical knowledge, and kind...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Picked up a ‘98 GLT over Thanksgiving and have been sorting out some issues. Most notably, a few weeks ago... an ABS module from Midwest-ABS, which lead to a ABS wire troubleshoot, and a successful solder. And then today I rebuilt and installed a junkyard pnp switch, reverse lights work once again. ...

Re: '99 V70 -- WTB Driver side power seat switch holder 3960 color
Picked one up at Harry's today. Not matching color, but close enough. Not meaning to alarm my P80 friends, but P80 platform wrecks were thin on the ground in Hazelton. They have increasingly been disappearing such that P&P is ceasing to be a viable parts option. Of note, there is a silver/pewter...

Re: 1998 V70 GLT 19T Build
It seems to be a tossup for '98s. Most people say their '98 has a hydraulic tensioner, but most that I've seen in person are mechanical Engine serial numbers up to and including 1266127: Hydraulic Tensioner. Engine serial numbers 1266128 and above: Mechanical Tensioner. You cannot switch from one t...

Re: 1998 V70 GLT 19T Build
Is this a B2524T motor? I've got one that's supposedly a '99 motor. (They used them for 97-99) going into my '78 240. How do you plan to mount a white block in the 240? Rear or front drive? Transmission? volvolugnut I won't hijack his thread with details, but it's not too terribly difficult to moun...

Re: HEAT!! (for your feet...and hands...in the garage)
You can figure out roughly how much it costs per hour to run. Take your all-in cost per kWh from your electric bill, let's say it's $0.14/kWh, and multiply by 5, assuming your 5000W heater actually uses 5 kW. So it's costing you $0.70/hour. Or multiply by whatever the kW ratings are at the lower set...

Re: P80 Fuel tank - what type of plastic? [HDPE with Nylon additive]
Matt - sorry I didn't wrap this up very thoroughly! Here's some more info and pics on the steps I did. I followed a good guide to tank removal, intended for replacing the hoses on top of the tank. The handiest part of it was jumping the fuel pump to empty the tank.... "Next drain the fuel tank ...

Re: P80 Fuel tank - what type of plastic? [HDPE with Nylon additive]
Frame is supported on jack stands, far enough apart and away from the tank so you can maneuver. Disconnect the wire retainer that holds the rubber filler neck into the sheet metal. IMG_4377.JPG IMG_4374.JPG Unbolt the straps holding the tank up. I should probably have undone both front and back to m...
