Re: Let's play Name That Car

France bought the rights to the Ford flathead V8 and continued production for decades, mostly in military equipment and stationary applications, but...

Re: MVS in St Lous …Abscate joins the xc90 Club!

Until we see it on the Port Jeff ferry it's just a fever-dream.

Tom Robbins, 7/22/32 - 2/9/25

Another_Roadside_Attraction_Tom_Robbins.jpg I came home on leave late in my Excellent Adventure in the Pacific and went into downtown DC to meet Dad for lunch at my old high school hangout bar - you could still drink at eighteen back in those days. Behind the bar was one of my best friends from tha...

Re: Car won't start sometimes, then runs fine

It also happens when the engine is warm. In most of the fuel pump relay threads I read that the car would also stall while running, which has not happened to me (yet). I may buy one of these relays anyway just in case. If the relay is original to the car it will do no harm to replace it as a routin...

Re: Let's play Name That Car

Isuzu Bellett Express, '63-73 or so, besides the home market wildly popular in Indonesia and Australia. https://www.isuzu.co.jp/world/newsroom/details/nenp_010.html They made a one-ton version (!) but I couldn't find a pic. https://www.automobile-catalog.com/make/isuzu/bellett/bellett_wagon/1967.htm...

Water pump will likely be fine, and will ( usually ) give a few hints that things aren't well. The tensioner pulley bearings and the idler can fail without warning, so that may not be a good bet to make.

Re: Hemmings S70 $5000??? #twisted

The $5000 s70 was a family owned low mile unit, Like 70k miles but, reserve not met. Foggy and I conspired to score KarlaKat from the MD AUCTION but I was 2k in for a Nautic blue s70 AWD with 105k , he put about 10 hours into it so I could drive it home from DC to NY. The first two fixes on that on...

Re: Non-Volvo car chat megathread

$3.81 is a bit stiff for a small box of ziplock bags, but they look well-made. The black things are there to puff them up and make them look bigger.

Re: WTB a P80 (850/v70/s70) - preferably a turbo/stick!

I have a general question if anyone is still paying attention: How is the foot space in manual 850 / v70s? (p80). I have size 13 feet, and in my 2000 passat I had to wear narrow shoes because the pedals were kinda close together. Conversely, when I test drove a p1 V50 m66, I actually noticed the ti...

Re: 2000 S70 - How Bad Did I Just Blow Up My Engine?

Turning 7k while it's low tide in the pan usually equals scored rod journals. The spare engine laying idle in Long Island would be less labo(u)r intensive, and would get the poor car back on its hands and feet in a timely fashion; you would still have your lump to tinker with at your leisure, instea...
