Re: Subframe Bushing installation with pictures

No don't worry about that, you only have to drop the subframe enough to get a spacer in between the subframe and the mainframe, about a quarter inch, make sure you do this otherwise the bushings will not seat fully. Note the orientation of the bushings before you take them out and put the new ones ...

Re: Volvo 2.5T AWD 2003 Automatic delay 3 to 4

Oh yeah, removing the transmission is no problem. If that was the hardest part - I'm relieved :) I have a 3-point support bar from ages ago and a cheap cherry picker from HF. Dropping the transmission for the rear main seal job was not hard. The engine swayed away from the engine mounts and I had a...

Re: 07 S60 Right Front Axle advice

Okay, I see it now. So where yours has a pretty defined lip, mine are flatter. Probably gave mine that little extra room when positioned at an angle to let one release and the others then had the room to follow. Thanks everyone for the information. I’ll play with it some more now I know what was su...

Re: Check your Banjo PCV bolt

To find the resource to investigate this do I just look in the main PCV replacement instructions? Re: FWD axle shafts

Need to replace front passenger axle sometime soon. 2006 V70. Is there a difference between Turbo & Non Turbo shafts? I've been looking for a decent used one on eBay, but most FWD ones I see are only listed as fitting Turbo model. But yet I've seen new aftermarket shafts listed elsewhere that s...

Re: 2001 V70XC - Sunroof Rattle

Check the threads in the side channel pieces for the four torx screws that hold the glass on and also the torx screw threads, if the threads are in good shape use medium strength threadlocker and retighten the four screws. With my car the previous owner had stripped the threads in the side piece for...

Re: Is it time for a new automatic gearbox ?

Big problem today with my Volvo S60 2.5T AWD :( Driving along when the car suddenly lost drive, just like I would shift to neutral. Now If I wait for a while the car works like normal for a couple of minutes and then loses forward and backward 1. The oil is in good condition and at the right level ...

Re: Is it time for a new automatic gearbox ?

A couple of test attempts: ... When it works you can feel and hear the gears engage. Based on the videos I'm going to say it is a clogged filter and checking pressures could help verify. I attached my notes about cleaning the filter externally through an added hole in the transmission case for dire...

After a while it when from dripping in the hole to a steady stream. Maybe I removed some dirt in the filter so even more oil could be drained.
How are things going?
