What is this shops reviews/ reputation. Ive had more than one incident where a mechanic damaged my car then needed a tow but yea, be...

Re: Changing Timing belt this week, any tips?

leave the crank pulley and big nut alone, remove the front engine mount (two bolts) and torque mount and raise the engine, this will give you some extra room to do the water pump. Check the VVts for play, especially wobble at fully counter-clockwise is a common failure a volvo tech told me.

Re: Timing Belt replacement

if in doubt, change the belt. Ive also changed belts after major seal oil leaks, probably over careful but i dont want to risk it. Also stick with the Volvo branded kit, the pulley and idler is made by Ina so you can save money buying from them but no one knows who makes the belt.

Re: Thoughts on Volvo mudflaps for an XC?

Mudflaps on my XC70. i think it came with the volvo rivets but i decided to use volvo self tapping screws with the metal clips because i can remove them easier. either way i recommend using washers.

I decided to stop in at Skandix Germany for some parts for my 2001 xc70, they have moved location and have a big new factory just around the corner from the old place, a showroom with some nice old cars. Reality hit when i was told the volvo factory in Gothenburg no longer have parts for the 2001, i...
