Re: Generic Exhaust work?
Exhaust work is not easy unless you have a good set of ramps, a flame device to heat joins, some leather gloves, a tube cutter or chain cutter and plenty of patience. Get some more quotes or obtain/borrow/rent the above and order the muffler. Does the muffler include the tailpipe? That's a very good...

Re: how to remove transmission in a 2000 s80 2.9 non turbo
Hi Otis, I haven't removed the transmission from an S80 however from my understanding you need to do a lot more than what you are doing. The whole subframe will need to be dropped in order to break the engine/transmission union. Another method is to pull the engine only from the top and replace the ...

Convert 960 92/93 Timing gear to 94
One of the worries about driving an early 960 is that skinny 21mm timing belt and the short change interval of 50k miles. It always made me worry that it can snap toward the end of its service life or just simply cost me more time in repairs due to the short interval. I took a gamble that paid off b...

Re: Volvo s60 P/N 8644345 2001 non-turbo ETM pictures
This was so easy to do and the result was first class. The most cost-effective 2.5 hours I've spent on any of my vehicles to date. Just hope it stays that way!! In my case an ETM reload was not necessary. After fitting it this afternoon the idle is back to normal (around 860rpm) and the throttle res...

Just how rare is your Volvo
Found a great read in the glovebox of our new (to me) S60 today. A great Volvo journal covering years 1927-2004. The photos I published show the build numbers (quantity) of the early V70/S70 and all 850s I have others I can publish upon request. After comparing the 960/S90/V90 production numbers I c...

Re: Volvo S60 P0121 code - ETM, Sacer TPS?
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/02/re5ebene.jpg Take a look at these pics I made of procedure. Always measure the voltage at the replacement sensor BEFORE removing the sensor. When testing the voltage just use a clamp to keep the new sensor on then remove it quickly to adjust the magnet rotation. W...

Re: 1996 850 interference
I've worked on the 10 valve (B5252S) 5 cylinder engines and they're interference motors; flycuts on pistons means that's the case.

Re: '03 C70 Power Windows problem — intermittent performance
The window frame runs on PVC runners and rollers which require a dousing of plastic grease. Remove the door trim and lubricate the runners at uppermost, half and lowest position of the glass.
The window should begin to operate normally. If not chances are the window motor is beginning to fail.

Re: Transponder in key is shot. No funds for new key. Must bypass
I bought some ID48 transponders from a local locksmith recently. Henry (doublebug) was the guy who re-created new immobilser codes in a 2006 XC70 that had lost them from the CEM and then programmed the transponders to suit. That's what I call magic!! Mind that this is doable on the later style CEMs....
