Re: Fuel Problems
I think you have two problems to deal with here: exhaust and possibly fuel pump. If the fuel pump is really loud, it may need replacement very soon. But the important thing is to figure out your exhaust situation. Your car has two O2 sensors from the factory, one mounted in the exhaust manifold (pri...

Re: New to me 99' S70, base, 5-speed, 209k
Very nice, love the 5 speeds! Can I be rude and ask what you paid for it? Not rude at all, no worries. But I am a little embarrassed to say I paid $650 for it. I brought the car home Sunday evening and got to know the car a little better. All the dash bulbs are working save for 2 switches, and anot...

Re: Three Volvos: 1970s, 1990s, and 2000s, all in one backyard
Nice, I like the old 144 the best.
The rims on the 850 look like Centaurus ones. They are 16x7 and I think they came on C70's originally. You can recognize them by the little spikes sticking out between the spokes.

Re: Cheap Timing Belt Discussion
Agree with all the comments above. If you don't know the brand of water pump that went into your car, replace it immediately with an Aisin brand pump (this is OEM) along with the TB and components OEM only. Take it from someone who spent $4000+ for a replacement engine after the cheapo WP failed at ...

Re: Cheap Timing Belt Discussion
On a Volvo, im not sure WHY YOU ARE WORRYING AT ALL, since you can pop off the edge of the timing cover SO EASILY and simply look at it! Done and dusted. Yes, you can inspect the belt this way, but the belt is only part of the puzzle. Unless you take the belt off and inspect the bearings of the ten...

Re: clunking noise from brakes?
I have a clunk happening just like what you are describing with my 850. I think your mechanic is right on when he is saying that it comes from the front brake pads having too much play. Mine started happening right after I replaced the brake pads. Old ones no clunk- new ones clunk, so I know that th...
