I just bought another Volvo last night in my favorite color nautic blue, and with 3 pedals.
It was inexpensive and close to me, so I had to go check it out.
You never really know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised that the vitals checked out:
PCV in perfect shape, totally neutral pressure (this blew me away
No leaks around the engine.
Clutch feels fine, no slippage at all, engagement where it should be.
Suspension appears to have been updated not too long ago with orange Konis?
It also has blue springs, which could be H&R but I'm not sure.
No clunks or rattles, even the endlinks are fine.
No dash rattle whatsoever, no squeaks or anything.
Has 2 new front tires, rears are very recent.
Brand new battery too.
No dash light on, except for the coolant reservoir ( not loosing coolant, maybe a bad sensor? )
Parking brake is holding fine.
As far as what it needs, this is my first assessment, although I know there will be a lot more once I get into it:
First order of business is doing the TB with WP. TB was changed around 104k, so it's due but not super overdue.
It has the wrong coolant in it, needs to be changed to Volvo oem.
Oil change.
Tune up.
Power steering reservoir is leaking.
Paint is dull, but has potential.
Interior is filthy, needs deep cleaning.
Front seat bottoms are shot, will look for replacements.
Brakes are crusty.
This car will be a fun project (hopefully) and I can take my time with it once the important stuff is done.
Plus, I am revisiting the idea of teaching my kids how to drive stick.
They both expressed interest and this car is perfect for that.
Taken last night:
