Re: New to me 99' S70, base, 5-speed, 209k
Shake down week is almost over. I drove the car to work every day and no major problems occured after roughly 450 miles. The "only" codes that popped up are for an EVAP large leak and a faulty wheel sensor signal. All in all not bad and hopefully easy fixes. And there are still no leaks an...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky)
The 850 got a little shoe polish treatment yesterday. The trim was badly faded and I always wanted to try this out.
We shall see how long this lasts. But it's super easy to apply and takes only minutes to do the bumpers.

Re: New to me 99' S70, base, 5-speed, 209k
Getting more stuff done. I replaced the big J hose for the EVAP system which was completely cracked. No more CEL and the car passed the emission test with no problem, yay :D The headlights were in sad shape, so I replaced them with new TYC units. I am really impressed with the quality of these, and ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Pick a part yard near me finally got an 850 in so I went pickin’ over the weekend! Got a nice set of gray carpet and parts to fix the cruise control (module and vacuum pump). While I had the seats out of my ‘96 850 GLT to replace the carpet I redid the headliner too. Gray carpet actually looks real...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
That's the way to do it.
Sounds pretty much exactly how I'm going through the S70 I bought a while back. It's a lot of work but very rewarding I find.
And you can enjoy your 850 for a looong time.

Re: Car Stranded - Won't start, no click, lights on, no push start - 99 s70 base manual trans
Well this is a real drag, that's for sure. I am not sure if this can be properly diagnosed on the side of the road. It might make sense to get it towed to your indie's shop. Does the engine crank at all? If not you may have a bad starter. If it does crank you can troubleshoot further: A no start con...

P2 V70 rear spoiler installation instructions with photos
Hello all, I recently installed a "wing" on my 05' V70 and since I had trouble finding good instructions online I thought I take some notes and share what I learned from doing this job. There is a mounting kit available from Volvo for about $58 which includes all the hardware needed, plus ...

Re: S70 T5 -- softer ride? tires?
Your car came with 16" wheels and 205/55/16 tires from the factory. In general, if you increase the size of the side wall, you get a more comfortable ride. You can achieve this by going to 15" wheels. The tire size I would recommend for that size is 195/65/15. This change will make a signi...

Re: Replacement Key
Funny how Admirals just have to do it their own way, not on the hook where everybody else hangs their keys.
But then I get the occasional "can I use your key today?, because I can't find mine"
no words needed.
