Re: Photography thread

It used to be a 122.... Funny that somebody got an old Chevy truck into Sweden in the 80s. It's actually not unusual. I don't know how it is now, but in the eighties and nineties there were a lot of American classic cars in Sweden. People were crazy for them. Same in Germany, there were big meets w...

Re: Photography thread

I don't know much about steam engines either, but they sure fascinate me as well. Here is a fairly recent photo taken at the CT Antique Machinery Museum in Kent, which is only 1/2 hour from my house. I have no clue what this engine is, but apparently it was used by a lumber company:

Can ...

Re: Photography thread

Seeing the farm tractors in Scotland instantly brought back memories about my childhood. I did not grow up on a farm, but we were surrounded by farmland. As a kid I was always waiting by the fields until a neighbor farmer would invite me to hop on the tractor. Then in 1979 when I was 13 my dad bough...

Re: Are old Volvos really that expensive to run/fix?

Basic transportation costs $2000-2500 here today, before repairs. I wish I could get Dirk to find me those $500 cars , for the same money you get a great driver at that money. It seems that the days of finding deals like that are gone. I got lucky twice with the 850 and the S70. Both required the i...

They sure are. My 97' 850 GLT was great, I drove it for 11 years and put close to 200k on it.
