Re: Best way to get trans fluid out of transmission?

With the car in park, disconnect the top line from the radiator, and hook a clear tubing onto it leading to a container. Start the car with trans in park, and it will start pumping fluid. Your best bet is to do a continuous exchange until you get bright pink fluid pumping out of the trans. That will...

Re: 96 Volvo 850R - oil leak on front side of engine

I have heard of oil pressure senders leaking, but am surprised it would be that amount. Re: 96 Volvo 850 Climate Control Blinking Lights

I was think yours is a '94.

Option1: You can make a blink code reader for the'96. You can find instructions and a file with the code list here.

Option 2: 850 OBD-II for Android and a ELM327 bluetooth dongle

Option 3: Get a working copy of Vol-FCR and a OBDII to serial or USB cable.

Re: 96 Volvo 850 Climate Control Blinking Lights

You don't need a tool. You need 3 wires. 18 gauge will do. And 3 large paper clips, along with a test light. Use the diagram at the top of this link viewtopic.php?f=37&t=60660
but instead of port 3, use port 6 for the ECC.

Re: OBD I style LED Flash code Reader.

On a 96 850 Turbo, these flashing LED tools are used with Motronic 4.3 on pin 3, ECC on pin 6, and Cruise Control on pin 13. So if you are going to diagnose an ECC problem, the light goes between pins 6 and 16 (not pins 3 and 16 as you mentioned in your question). For your test light, I suggest a 12...

Re: 1996 Volvo 850 engine vibration - bad power steering pump?

Check your power steering fluid level first.

Engine vibration is probably attention required in tuneup....coil wires cap rotor plugs require periodic replacement , roughly 2-3 year intervals
