My 2001 V70 T5 developed a radiator leak at the hose neck at about 180K miles. It was slow leak and only under pressure. I replaced before it got worse so I would not have to worry about a sudden, large failure.

Carb cleaner will cut these deposits. A stiff brush (brass or nylon) will work better than a pipe cleaner. You will have to do some scrubbing. I've replaced two radiators on my 850. It was the joint between the plastic side tanks and the metal radiator body.

do88.se has an all-aluminium upgrade radiator if you need to replace it. Probably not the cheapest option, but it is good.

Standard radiators last a long time. OE had a brass re-inforcement tube on the top hose inside of it as it gets a fair amount of stress from the engine moving. Mine failed because that brass tube came loose and moved out into the upper hose removing the strength of the plastic until it sheared. Alwa...
