Re: What non automotive projects and repairs are you doing?
I am still not finished with the garage walk in door replacement. I need to finish paint touchup and the inside trim, and seal under the sill. I have also returned to broken brick replacement for the brick walls. Mortar work must wait until next week after a few days of cold front and first frost. ...

Re: Opinions wanted: Do I go through with this repair?
You have a better Volvo, so keep it. I would repair with future outlook; a piecemeal fix would burden your pocketbook. Here is my experience of 2001 V70XC - 200,000 Miles Makeover https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=92790 . It is running great; my next milesstone is 400,000km wi...

Re: 2020 V60CC - 36K Tune up
What has been your experience so far with the V60? Did you look at or consider earlier versions, say in the teens? Thanks - It fits into our driving comfort; we leased it first to ease into it. Without hesitation, it feels right with our existing V70XC and XC90 experience -- rolls away like water i...

Re: What non automotive projects and repairs are you doing?
My LL Bean brown leather boot is a go-to for extreme weather for past 32 years - waterproof, snow, warmer, and/or pure labor. This pair was $200 in 1991. The outsole is one piece made of synthetic material which has been peeling away at the toe and heel; yard work last fall was a struggle with these...

Re: 2020 V60CC - 36K Tune up
It is now 40,000 miles; there is no dipstick to check the fluid level. The steps are similar to our 2001 V70XC, but it takes 10 Torx screws to remove the engine protective cover - the material has felt-rubber-fabric feel to it. The Torx screws into plastic retainer - be gentle, put away your impact....

Re: 2020 V60CC - 36K Tune up
Something bad has happened to that wheel. The bead will hold air for now, but note the crack is traveling down from the lip into the bead. Is this aluminum? There are wheel shops that can restore alum wheels to new. No idea the cost compared to finding a good used one. Found a replacement over Ebay...

Re: 2007 XC-70 front brake job pad too tight?
Dear Matthews, I did a front rotor and pad job on my 2007 Volvo XC-70 yesterday and I ran into an issue I have never experienced in prior brake jobs on this car. I was using Akebono pads. Passenger side went fine. But the driver's side outside brake pad would not fit in the caliper. It was very clo...
