Re: 1997 850: throws DTC P0410 between 87-90 miles of drive

Nope! You need to remove the hose from air filter housing...not from SAS valve. If you remove it from sas valve you should feel a vacuum not air blow. Sas system and pump is operated by ecu. It should turn on on cold engine for just about few seconds. The easiest way to test it is to apply 12v direc...

Re: 1997 850: throws DTC P0410 between 87-90 miles of drive

I would apply 12v to it directly, you can run a wire down from the battery + pole. Just touch to it, it should spin right up. Or start the engine when cold and reach down put your hands on the pump - is it running? Here's some good, basic troubleshooting tips see the post by "Drew" http://...

Re: Recharging A/C... fan not coming on

#21 is the high pressure switch. It has three electrical connects. Be careful with that puppy, and look up the price on FCP if you want to know why,

You can tell the #45 is the low pressure side since it comes after the evaporator, after expansion. It is also on the same line as #31, the fill port.

Re: Recharging A/C... fan not coming on

Something is screwy with these cans. I use 30# cylinders at shop but I was at my sister's a few hundred miles from home and topped up her vehicle with a Wal-Mart can with gauge hose affair and had no problems with it. On P80 with cycling clutch switch system the compressor will cycle rapidly until t...

Re: Time to say goodbye....T5

"Today Precopster's V70 T5 went to its final resting place. The vehicle had a DNR order filed (Do Not Repair) and some recent failures sealed it demise. The tow truck procession traveled a route lined with P2 wagon owners standing at attention with tools hoping for a chance to grab needed bits ...

Re: Wanted: 97 850 NA Gear Shifter Grey

Interested in a leather shift knob? This one is gray from a C70.
The button works fine, just the usual cracking.

Tip for easier work on front of engine

I thought of a tip today to make it more comfortable to work down low on the front of V70 engines. The steel radiator support has an edge on the back side that is always cutting into your arms. This is particularly hard when the fan is removed. I realized a length of split hose or wire loom would ma...

Re: DIY: CV Joint Removal Tool anyone?

As a follow-up from 2017... I finally bought this CV tool on ebay for < $20 ($17 or so). This is the best investment ever. Once the circlip is released, slowly crank the tool (I use a piece of old radiator hose as cushion), and the CV joint comes off like butter. In the past I had to use the vise an...
