Re: Abs control module

FYI,

My local Ace Hardware carries the bolt for 60 cents/each.

Factory is: M4 x 07 x 48mm long, Torx head
Ace Hardware: M4 x 07 x 50mm long, Phillips head, add a lock washer and you are in good shape.

Resurrecting an old thread to ask: Would an M4 × 07 × 45 mm be long enough?

If you do, some gets your soul. You should know that.

Re: 04 V70, N/A, serpentine belt, mystery to me

Hey there faust.. MDK here. Yeah, so take a long regular screw driver and a hammer. "POP" the cap off. Put a socket on the pulley itself and relieve the tension... That's what I did... Not the Volvo way but, I don't work for 'em.

Re: 04 V70, N/A, serpentine belt, mystery to me

I use the "Serpentine Belt Tool".
Basically a flat piece of iron and 3/8" square head.

You can get the tool at Harbor Freight for $18:

Re: 04 V70, N/A, serpentine belt, mystery to me

You cannot use a standard torx on a ratchet, it won't fit in there. I use the 14mm socket and ratchet but see what I mention in this video, I use a very thin head ratchet, a 3/8" Husky one that is only 12mm thick with a socket that is not too long either. I wonder if a 1/4" ratchet would b...

Re: 2004 v70 "BrakeFailure,Stop Safely"

I didn't mean to scare you by posting that about Xemodex, my apologies. Your symptoms just sounded much like I recall mine as being. Edit: I'd totally try swapping the BCM module into your running car. For the blind work you'll need torx bits, can't recall which size but quite long bolts come out, t...

Re: Real Trouble E5 screw on ABS module

Faust wrote: 22 May 2020, 14:37 I could never center it.
It is in a recess, tape or a collar on the bit to act as a centering guide until you get it started. Build the tape up until it matches the diameter of the recess. If all go according to plan the bolt will start backing out as soon as the bit bites.
