Re: 2007 S60 2.5T Serpentine Belt & Tensioner

This is my first serpentine pulley on a Volvo. Perhaps I should just go with the olde? Link? The cover is easy to remove but is a thin piece of rubberized metal so have to be careful not to kink it. Gentle prying a large blade. . https://www.walmart.com/ip/Box-Cutter-Retractable-Heavy-Duty-Ergonomi...

Re: 2007 S60 2.5T Serpentine Belt & Tensioner

A/C compressor has 2 lower bolts and 2 upper bolts that it shares with the alternator. Compressor mounts stack with alternator mounts and push those against the plate. You need to slacken the lower bolts, so the compressor can be pulled up.

Re: 04 xc70: Are deep pockets needed for this vehicle?

Many, many 2.5T engines on P2 get a burnt exhaust valve in the 220k-250k miles range. Because of solid tappets vs hydraulic lifters you had on P80.

FWD P2 with N/A engine (2.4) is much more affordable to own. These ones don't have many problems, especially later years.

Re: 2004 S60 - Best Ride Comfort Advice

My Turkey-made Volvo struts, and the rest of front suspension, were replaced after 7 years and 53k miles. They we not fully dead, but not as good as when they were new. Replaced mostly because the springs sagged, and dampening force was insufficient for 29" AT tires I put on a year or so ago. T...

Re: Misfire - need to get home!

Do a compression test in all cylinders when you get home.

I drove 200+ miles with a hole in exhaust valve in #1, haven't disconnected anything. When Bosch ECU correctly diagnoses which cylinder is misfiring, it cuts fuel and spark from this cylinder.
