Re: 1997 Volvo 850 GLT Turbo - very small hose above lower radiator hose in engine bay is broken.
I used some 3.5mm or 4mm silicone hose from Verocious motorsports.

Re: Thinking of Selling, 1998 v70
A 2010 Ford or Chevy will be pretty cheap to service and maintain as there are many more independents and chains that can do domestic stuff. However, they lack panache, verve, and élan of Volvos; documented by the lack of Oxford commas and semicolons in their respective Fora. Hi, So what's your poi...

Re: Transmission fluid leak?
Get a replacement torque mount as well. Yours isn't even worth reinstalling.

Re: No compression on 1 - burnt valve?
Lots of work. I would also check the injectors, we don't know if they are the reason for it, but it won't hurt and is sensible imo. Maybe someone offers cleaning, or you can get refurbished ones... You an also try to clean them by yourself, build something to actuate the injector and spry carb/inta...

Re: ABS issues
Resistance is only useful marker for ABS sensors if it’s infinite.

It took me a lot longer than anticipated because I did a lot of things on top of the rebuild. Here's a picture just before putting the cam cover back on. The gasket material is appli...

Re: ABS issues
At this point you can have an ABS module fault and one or more faults outside of the module. It comes with the age.
I tested twelve 96-98 abs modules last week, 5 of the 12 had codes showing faults outside of the module on whatever car they came from.

Re: No compression on 1 - burnt valve?
I went through the same thing, but with far more hiccups. I have the combined Catalytic convert/Exhaust Manifold, it's a chonky piece and couldn't fit behind the now installed head. Obviously I should've have put it in BEFORE the cylinder head. I then had to remove the driveshaft to get it from dow...

Re: Extreme axle restoration - good or bad idea?
As it turns out, extreme axle restoration may be more difficult and less perfect than it seems: The carrier bearing I bought (Febi 9181693) has a rounded profile instead of the flat edge on my 1999 and 2000 axles. It fits into the carrier but the only points of contact will be a thin circumference i...
