Most emissions testing require both the CEL To be off and most ot all of the monitors to be ready , so that you can’t clear it just before testing to cheat the test, You have to clear that code and run 100-200 miles before testing for smog. The EPA issued Federal guidance that allow some slack of on...

If you are well above freeze point just replace with water until you track the leak down. There are lots of small hoses that can spring a leak

Re: High Years, Low Mileage - What Can I Expect?
If it was driven on hard roads you could need new suspension parts. I did lower control arms on my 99 at about 120k, New struts and springs at 160k on a car that was gently driven on good roads. Re: Synthetic Oil Harmful?
Short version. The term 'synthetic' has gotten a bit ambiguous, as there are now oils that come from crude oil, but are built up to improve performance. Those are Group 3 oils and are often labelled 'synthetic' Group 5 oils are completely synthesised for superior performance - tailor made, if you wi...

Re: Help with XC70 purchase
I thought I posted this last night - wonder where it went..?? Thats a perfect car for you - at 2000 miles a year, next 5 years will be nice If the timing belt and PCV are done, no major things for 5 years. I would trust a Conti sticker under hood - if you lead a good karmic life, all will be well. I...
