Re: Timing belt replacement 2007 v70, low mileage oil change interval
You really do want to spin your motor up on occasion , it helps rotate the valves and keep them seated well. I might do 5 minutes if 4000 rpm on the highway tin NJ because my T5 lives between2000-2500 for most of its life, even less now that I’m older. Volvo valve train is very strong though, so the...

Re: 1996 850 Wagon Service Light On
Make sure you gets both mounts firmly on Pete I’m pretty sure I killed my 4 year old Nissens with a loose ear mount, which meant the rad hose on passenger side took the heavy load of the radiator-intercooler-condenser biscuit, and thus separated the plastic side from the metal part. I drilled out th...

Re: Sputtering
You can borrow The fuel pressure gauge for free from an auto part sale place to diagnose the fuel delivery and save time over throwing parts at it. JY parts are always a bit risky as diagnostics, of course

Re: 2005 v70 engine code p0089
Welcome Emma! That’s a strange orientation of the stars that a clutch switch fixed a fuel pressure problem. I’m guessing that problem is still lurking in the woods. Welcome to the 2005 V70 manual transmission club! I had trouble on my 2005 with the pump electronic module or PEM. These get dirty and ...

Re: 2005 v70 engine code p0089
That’s a real gem of troubleshooting info. The clutch switch is integrated into the cruise, so that the engine doesn’t race when you declutch. Starting with clutch engaged is telling that the switch is dead, though. If you have a good code reader that can monitor fuel pressure you’ve done well. One ...

Re: '98 V70 T5 Knocking sounds
It doesn’t change on float, so that points to a main bearing or an accessory.
iPhone recordings distort sounds unfortunately...it does sound like an AC compressor too, though.

Re: Safe to Charge Battery Indoors?
Do not attempt to cut hedges with your battery.
Do not drink battery acid.
Do not hold above your head and drop on your head.
I think I have covered everything else.

Re: 2008 XC90 V8 AC problems
Volvo recommendation on the models I work on (not the XC90) is drier replacement is recommended for a blown system or one open to air for more than 24 hours. The internet tends to bleat that you should replace it whenever you crack the system, but thats because people love to spend others' money. Yo...
