I’m a moderator on a forum. Top pet peeves: 1. Posts for sale and immediately leaves forum to not return for 6 months. 2. Not updating sold items resulting in multiple “sorry that is sold” replies. 3. No details of what part number is or what it fits. 4. Priced way above market. 5. “ Accepting offe...

There are tons of $10 +10 shipping market value parts but the cost of customer acquisition and handling wipes you out. My rule on parting out is I have to recover the cost of car, towi...

Re: Parting out cars online etc or just send them to the junkyard?

The heated rear seats are rare, I'd buy them right away if you were in Europe. If you have the time, pull at least the wiring harness, switches and possibly the heater mats. The center console is easy to get out. If you own one of these, I'd keep body panels, doors, headlights, taillights and alot ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Isn't the 850 AWD system (and early XC70) very unreliable? I've only ever owned one car with an automatic transmission and it was an american car. They roll 200-300k miles if they are maintained and tires are kept aligned in even tread. Typical death is poor wheel alignment > uneven tire wear > che...

Re: leaking AC - where to start and end

Getting the big nut off the dryer is almost impossible in those tight quarters. Solution: remove the suction line from the compressor, and then lift the dryer off with the hose attached. On the bench, the dryer hose is much easier. I also cut the evaporator snouts off with a Dremel rather than fuss ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Pushed 7 liters of Volvo Maxlife ATF Dex 6 into KarlaKat transmission via pumpout through the radiator hose. Managed to do this on a conference call while getting paid.
