Re: A $100 '99 V70 GLT
Ive got plenty spares and can drop one in the mail - let me know.. You have to use the right bolts as the holes are blind , so too long a bolt won’t seal. I’ll double check but I think they are the same as water pump bolts. Confirmed. Part number 985151 fits both the water pipe 2x and water pump 7x ...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Bought a pristine 05' XC70 for my daughter yesterday, 1 owner with 112k miles, dealer maintained. Planning a road trip to bring it to Denver, and the enjoy the trip back home with wife and Harold the 850. Nice, don’t forget pictures! I’ve got a pretty good reference for transport if you change your...

Re: SC-816 radio questions
Hello! Need good photos of the motherboard of the Volvo SC 816. From both sides. No need to unsolder the board to take a good photo from above. Whatever works out. Thanks in advance. There were a couple of good photos in a VRD piece on soldering in a plug connection for AUX input from an iPhone. I’...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Went to replace panhard/stay on rear of '99 XC today. Found additional damage such as a sway bar mount being destroyed. Hit everything with Fluidfilm for now, will be back under there when I return to US. V70XC-DAY1.png Ugh. Still want to know the difference between AWD and XC stays. My life won’t ...

Re: Type and how much brake fluid for pressure flush - P80 and P2
I use the Pentosin DOT 4 from FCP, you know why… You can flush to clean on all four calipers with 1 liter , just barely. It also helps if you Turkey blaster out all the old fluid from up top , too. I always have 2 liters on hand , just in case I’m under pressure. Brakes can bleed you dry, drum roll ...

Re: Studder/hesitation when accelerating...new MAF?
Well friends, I have a major problem on my hands. When removing plug #2, it was seized in there and, although I could turn it slowly with a breaker bar, I eventually snapped it below the spark plug socket. So the metal threads and porcelain are still seized in there. Took it to my mechanic. Several...

Re: Type and how much brake fluid for pressure flush - P80 and P2
I usually do 2 cars on a weekend because I hate opening a new can for 100 mL of fluid. Replace any bleeders that aren’t pristine while you do this, too.

Re: Buying Volvo with high km on it
It’s probably a good candidate for you, GuDo. Those diesels run forever , and the brakes and suspension stuff is all fixable.

Re: Does this knuckle appear damaged on a 2001 V70
It looks like someone bashed in the ball joint receiver as part of the R/R. You could take a Dremel and take a chamfer on the edge to see if the ball joint will start, then press it in. Any cracks are well away from the meaty part of the housing holding the ball joint in, so I would not sweat that.
