Re: Intermittent low knocking from engine bay, heard when hot and at idle - s70 NA Manual
AC compressor clutch. Try cycling AC button when noise is prese[not to see \if it changes
YOur harmonic balancer or crankshaft pulley could be loose. You can usually track down a noise to wtin a cm or so using a hose as a stethoscope
The sound does remind me of my bad AC clutch

Re: Rebuilt Calipers - Pins, What's the issue? 30648017
Update SEP 2019 If you search the part number, you will find that the pin quality of the rebuilds basically is sub par. My S70 lockedup both calipersdue to corroded aftermarket pins, which are poor quality stainless steel One of the reasons the rebuilds are so cheap are the cheap pins. Save your OEM...

Re: 98 v70 to 98 v90 steering wheel swap?
Definitely start with spline count. If that’s different your swap ends there
You might be able to see if the steering shaft is a common part on Volvo OEM , drilling down on the steering wheel section and comparing part numbers.
Then do the same for the airbag and connector

Re: Intermittent low knocking from engine bay, heard when hot and at idle - s70 NA Manual

The h...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Been a joy to bring her back to life after being neglected for years before I got her. Luckily she was low miles at around 55,000. Now she has 63,000 and climbing. Wow, sounds like you found a gem there with that low mileage. Hopefully the timing belt was replaced for age. [/quote] We live on the e...

Re: 1998 V70 T5; problem hot starting & occasional brief power loss at speed
If it fires in ether, and the injectors are delivering fuel, the fuel delivery amount is wrong. I think you need an oscilloscope to confirm the injector pulse ( more accurately , how long the ECU isnpulling the injectors to ground An ECU swap is the Mossberg method if you can’t get a scope , but you...

Re: Herman and Operation 30MPG
What a great thread. I just found it this morning and spent most of it ignoring the kids while I caught up on The Herman Chronicles. Abscate, have you tried the Lesjöfors HD springs? I put them on the Silver Bullet (‘00 V70 n/a MT) and absolutely love them. When I return the engine bar, we should s...
