Re: Misfires and much more
If you double click on those cylinder misfire codes traffic icons it should have counters if I remember correctly. These cars are old enough that a code coming up once doesn't worry me. If it keeps appearing then it is worthy of attention. If you're having misfires you would have known. The car woul...

Re: 1998 V70 NA - Wrong Strut Bar
Take the bar off and reverse it's direction. Then the mounts should fit but makes the tab to take the top off the 'kidney' fuse box a challenge. That is a Volvo strut brace, same as on my P80 00 V70R. Just went to the garage and double checked. Yes bar is on the wrong way around. Pull the bolt eithe...

Re: New to us 2004 XC70 with coolant in the oil. Likely head gasket, do I need to look out for anything else?
It is simple to detect oil cooler problem. It also has the greatest chance with that much oil going to cooling system but no loss of coolant or coolant in exhaust. Remove the two hoses to the cooler and connect them to each other with 5/8 inch hose nipple you can find in an auto store. You an do som...

If you suspect dry grease in CV joint, then a ghetto way is to use a grease gun and inject grease into th...

Re: P80 Bastards vs -1998 Voltage Importance on Running
Why is it our nature to run a battery to complete failure while we do preventive replacement for many other more expensive (less critical?) parts?

Pulled over to photograph some Canadian visitors and either hit something or. ??? Right rear tire blew out , sidewall failure. Tread about 3/32, but tires 13 years old. Time for new summers next year 13 years is up there for a tire. The Pirellis on my S70 have 2016 date codes and are starting to sh...

Re: Cold Concrete & Your Back
You youngun's and your blankets xD Jokes aside I worked out in the cold at the scrap yard for years. The wrenches would stick to your hand but you need to persevere, that engine won't get taken apart by itself. My toes would get numb, brutal. The only heat was a barrel with old headwrests we lit on...
