1998 V70 NA - Wrong Strut Bar

I’m confused by the strut bar and main fuses box on my V70. Is this an aftermarket strut bar and a previous owner chose to not re-attach the fuse box? I’m assuming this needs to be secured, but how? The box attachments can’t fit on top of the strut bar mounts without the box hitting the bar itself. Should it go under the bar mount? Then the mount wouldn’t Be squared up with the mount on the other side…

Take the bar off and reverse it's direction. Then the mounts should fit but makes the tab to take the top off the 'kidney' fuse box a challenge. That is a Volvo strut brace, same as on my P80 00 V70R. Just went to the garage and double checked. Yes bar is on the wrong way around. Pull the bolt either end, swap the ends keeping the bar the same way up, and then put the bolts back in. The nuts are a devil to get on. Use an open ended wrench, and tape the nut to the wrench and then feed the bolt through into the nut and catch the thread and tighten. Then remove the wrench and tape. Otherwise, you will spend ages looking for the nut when you drop it..........

You can then fit the fuse box to the strut nuts.
