Re: Removing rear delta link end link bushing, jack up one side of the car?

Well I did the Delta link end bushing change. It took me a total of 5 hours to do both sides. I did not buy the special tool I made one from a steering wheel universal puller and a piece of bed frame angle iron. Worked like a champ. If anyone is interested I can take a few pics and go further into t...

Re: 1995 Volvo 850 GLT long crank

The fact it starts instantly pushed puts it squarely in the dirty trans and bell housing face or faulty starter territory. Starter current draw has been ruled out. The barely adequate suppression fails when magnetic flux goes up or the suppression goes down. When the key is released and starter curr...

Re: Wheel Bearing? Hit curb now there's noise!

If it's/they've never been replaced, I'd say it was just hanging on by a thread & the curb was the straw that broke the camels back. They tend to make noise at 150-160k mile intervals, in my experience.

Re: Long trip prep? ('04 XC)

I just woke up from a nightmare; your j-hose tear was the star of it. I also dreamt of a new avatar - in it was a dozen eggs on a nice looking Volvo grill in the background, and in the foreground was a potato perched on top of an ignition coil, perched on top of a front wheel bearing assy, perched o...

SIPS in action

Hi everyone, so a few weeks back i got into a fairly bad crash in the trusty v70 and i was very impressed with the SIPS technology. It was an icy road that i took a little to fast and ended up hitting the tree on the drivers door at around 60 km/h. 82297089_839330949830543_2375744778777133056_n.jpg ...

Re: Alternator "Troubleshooting" [97 850]

Just to wrap this mystery up for any johnny-come-lately's who find this in the future: Thankfully- it was my battery that was bad. That sound recorded in Omega's video, that I heard as well is the sound of a straining alternator fighting to pump juice into a battery that just won't have it. Lucky me...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Definitely dodged a big bullet there Shiloh :o One thing that’s always bothered me about P2’s is how the arse end of these cars reminds me rather vividly of a “sulky”. As in, the little trailer that is towed behind a walk-behind zero-turn mower - the operator stands on it whilst operating said ZT mo...

Re: B5254T2 Engine (2.5T) Catalytic Converters All Going?

Thought I would mention that I finally resolved my Catalytic Converter codes P0420 & P04801(and turbo control/underboost P0299 & P06806 and evap codes 431D & P02407 ) by replacing the Volvo Boost Pressure Solenoid Valve (aka Turbo Control Valve TCV OE Numbers 7.22240.13.0, 722240130, 306...

Re: Connectors under the rear seats

scot850 wrote: 09 Feb 2020, 11:49 Yes, these are the mythical rear seat heater options that abscate keeps talking about. It was an actual option.

Neil.
I believe the rear seat heaters are much more common than the 3rd seat heaters:)
