Re: Quick and dirty things to look for on a 2004 XC70
Probably a little late for the original poster, but check the front coil springs. They are prone to failure (as in snapping). My one and only (so far) long distance tow was due to a snapped spring. ETM can also fail, but due mostly to dodgy wiring.

Re: Coil pack melting
Yes Rick I know, they’re all clean and tight, I was thinking more of the crimp lugs on the loom. Either way it all looks as it should.I’m still wondering where I’m getting a 7ohm reading between ground and the primary coil even when the loom is disconnected from the coils and the fuse is out😏 There...

Re: 1994 Volvo 850 - Confused which timing belt to buy
EDIT -
I mis-spoke. It IS the engine serial # that you need to reference, not the chassis #.
Your engine serial # is 289993, which is after the change-over. Sorry.

Re: Coil pack melting
I have noticed the heat spreads from the end nearest the connector plug, but still no idea why. Next thing to check must be the ecu. Excess heat indicates excess current. 1. Have you checked for heat with the coil pack disconnected? 2. Have you checked the wiring for shorts? 3. Short in connector? ...
