Re: P80 passengers and driver seat swap

I think you run into a problem with the back seat bottom structural tube, which asymmetrically projects out on the outboard side of each seat. This the passenger side seat will ...

Re: Ignition Coil Lifespan

When a coil is failing , does it trigger a check engine light and log which cylinder? Two folks I know are dealing with intermittent misfiring issues on their high mileage V70s. They shop has indicated this is 99% due to ignition coils but there's no way to determine which coil is going bad until it...

Re: V70 T5 Tranny Troubles

Here is the write up I used when I did my valve body work. I did not use an engine brace, rather I supported the engine with a jack and wood block on the engine oil pan. Engine needs to be supported as part of the subframe is being dropped. The second time I did it I skipped a few steps that made th...

Re: V70 T5 Tranny Troubles

It seems possible to backflush the filter through that port, though I don't know of anyone here successfully doing so. That port, specifically the opening on the left as you are facing the valve body, does indeed go back to pump suction (through a pretty convoluted path) Transmission with Valve Body...

Re: V70 gremlins

The only time I saw anti-skid warnings on my 2004 v70, it preceded a wide range of faults and warning lights, and was solved by removing the metal RFI shield from the CEM circuit board, and (perhaps overkill) adding heat sinks to both of the chips that are said to overheat in the CEM. As the heat si...

Re: Huge white smoke- FRUSTRATED

See the comments about the turbo, if the seals leak, it will blow oil right into the exhaust, then you look like the mosquito control guy.

Zombie thread alert: Mods wanna make a clean start?

A trick I used to do the B4 servo cover update

As you might know, doing the B4 shift servo update on 5-speed auto AW55-50 cars can be a little difficult because of the snap ring. When putting everything back together, you need to push down on the spring-loaded cover (1st hand), hold the snap ring (2nd hand) and hold the snap-ring pliers (3rd han...

PSA - Volvo P2 v70 Long Cargo Interior Limits

As most Volvo wagon owners know, the fellow who owns a Volvo wagon is everyone's best friend when something bulky needs moving. But - how big a thing will fit? In a P2 V70, you can easily haul 8-foot long, 2 foot wide IKEA wall units by removing the rear passenger seat bottom, folding down the rear ...
