Re: Camshaft Locking Tool Instructions
You must pop the the old camshaft end plug out. Basically stab it with a screwdriver and pry it out. On the exhaust side, there is a bolt at the center of the cam sensor steel, turn it out, and then the cam sensor steel comes right out. The bolts for the tool will thread into the ends of the cam. An...

Re: Camshaft Locking Tool Instructions
And as others have said, DO NOT crank the two long bolts into the cams. They are maybe 7mm and not the best steel and they will shear off INSIDE the camshaft. I did this.

Re: Camshaft Locking Tool Instructions
With the cam tool in place, you create three sets of marks: Both of these already have their own sets of marks already on the parts, but they are really hard to see: Front of cam sprocket showing alignment of the sprocket to the timing notches on the upper timing cover Crankshaft in relation to the ...

Re: Universal (All Makes And Models) Coolant In Volvo?
I'd recommend against it.
I have only used Volvo green in my 2001 V70 T5. Never had a leak, or any cooling system problem. Maybe replaced the thermostat and temperature sensor once in 20 years. I'm sold on the Volvo formula. I believe a gallon is less than $30.
Why change now?

Re: Universal (All Makes And Models) Coolant In Volvo?
I have used only Green Prestone (the fully concentrated version) + distilled water for the last 25 yrs
on my BMWs, Volvos.
Zero issues.
In fact, when I opened up the thermostat housing, WP areas etc., the inside of the engine looked pristine clean.
I like Prestone...

Re: Massive Oil Leak
I would go ahead and pull that engine mount back off, and retrace your steps back toward to the far exhaust cam seal, then play with the reluctor wheel. Just for fun
from the maintenance you listed, I don't see what else could make the described noise.

Re: What OBD2 Tool Would You Recommend For Non-Volvo Vehicles?

The software is call Car Scanner. $11.39 Mestart Enhanced Version Bluetooth OBDII OBD2 Car Scanner Auto Diagnostic Tool for Andro...
