Replacing CVVT Solenoid for Code P1332
This is my write-up about how to replace the CVVT Solenoid for any of you that get the CEL with code P1332 ("Camshaft Reset Valve") and have narrowed it down to the solenoid. I did this on my 2000 V70XC and your results may differ, so don't blame me if you break something. The CVVT solenoi...

Re: 1999 V70 First timing belt install-mechanical tensioner
OK--got it all back together--even found my lost splash shield bolt where it had tipped over into a web on the front of the block. Did a full two times by hand, then checked the tensioner and readjusted it a second time--I had absolutely no problems with the Volvo one, although it looked iden...

Re: 1999 V70 First timing belt install-mechanical tensioner
Hooray!
You are probably just being paranoid - I tend to hear things after a timing belt job as well and I've done 7 or 8 of them. It can't hurt to take the timing belt cover off and have a look while the engine is running just to satisfy your curiosity.

Following a request from another regular, I will make a start to a long thread on the fuel and emission line routing from the front of the car engine bay to, and around the rear axle area and fuel tank. As I have taken a whole load of photos, and can take more in needed, I will do this in stages, an...

1999 V70"T5 PCV Intake manifold re installation DIY
The late P80 cars have thermostatted PCV. Yeah! I'm convinced they clog much less than early P80s. I changed my oil with Dino every 5k with this car and really had minimal sludging. Reinstalling the manifold is hard though as you have extra stuff. 1 turbo induction manifold to ETM 2 electrical ETM, ...

Re: Rear Camshaft Position Aperture '00 V70xc - Does orientation matter?
It matters - that's how the ECU knows which rotation the crankshaft is on. I haven't worked on that exact year, but I think you'll find if you look closely, it will only go back properly in one orientation. Looking at the back of the camshaft, there is a groove that is offset from center. I think th...

Re: Rear Camshaft Position Aperture '00 V70xc - Does orientation matter?
Yes it matters. There are likely 3 notches on the back of cam on that year and with the corresponding 3 in the sintered iron profile wheel it can only go on one way. If not then look and you will see that two notches are perfectly inline because they were made by one cutter tool but they are not cen...

Re: 2000 V70XC Exhaust Manifold Lower support
Would it fit if you moved (7) over to the right bolt hole?
