Re: 2nd Head Gasket in 12 Months | Rant and Advice Wanted Please
A shop that won't warrant a head gasket job is not a shop I would go to. If he has the warranty displayed publicly on advertising, you might be able to get him. You can never go wrong buying genuine Volvo parts in the blue box. Most users here only recommend using Volvo seals and gaskets. Be careful...

Re: 2nd Head Gasket in 12 Months | Rant and Advice Wanted Please
Yippie! Head gasket jobs, my favorite. I'd like to start off by saying that you should never open the coolant reservoir with the engine hot/warm, it will cause coolant to back up into it. Also, you want to take a close look at the coolant reservoir cap to make sure it doesn't have any micro cracks i...

Re: RobertDIY manufacturing new parts
Lseats sells skins at $299 for set. Reviews are mixed, I’m going to try them in Spring
Elwood run $450 per seat for two pieces and another $70 for the headrest if needed.
Ill definetly wait and see what the Spin-master can roll out of his magic.

Re: Cam/cover question 98 s70 glt
Cover has to come off to free up the cams, be sure to inspect for minor cracks in the cam slots in the head. Cracks there are not deal breakers but they can happen. The cams don't sit flat because the cam lobes are in various directions, some hitting valves some not. Basically they don't sit flat be...

Re: 98 s70 glt rough start [P0304 P0305 , swapped plug wires]
Did you unhook the ABS module during the job? The connector is really finicky, make sure it is seated properly.
Or maybe the module has finally gone out. Matty Moo is still the way to go there https://www.midwest-abs.com/. There is some troubleshooting info on that page too.

+ 1 with eriks suggestion. Junkyard ABS modules (check Mid-West ABS website for module compatibility. There are different versions. Price was around $100 with lifetime warranty.

Re: 04 s60 engine id
2.5 liter turbo
Corrected below
To be really safe get a picture of either the sticker on the timing cover or the embossed engine number on the engine near the water pipe

Re: 04 s60 engine id
As abov,e if you are lucky and still have the large sticker on the side cover of the tb, otherwise you will need to decode the stamping on the block www.youtube.com/watch?v=irtWJPYWyGg Use a Continental belt kit - if replacing the pump at 200k miles use Aisin (Continental includes Hepu water pumps w...

Re: 04 s60 engine id
Nice catch Rich!
I’ll guess you have had a hood swap on this car at some point.
Get that engine number for parts ordering

Re: 04 s60 lifters
So I had to pull the head off to repair a head gasket. Took the head to get it RRd the guys asked if I had the lifters in the right order. This was news to me as the other two heads I’ve done were 98 and didn’t seem to need a spec order putting them back together. My question is am I going to have ...
