My opinion is the noises when turning is from the friction in the joint. Thread lube will reduce the friction between the bolt head and cylinder head and the bolt and block threads. This is good. The friction interferes with the proper torque. You could have used an extension pipe on the last tighte...

I am no expert on these codes, but codes can cascade from minor to major Canbus problems. I would expect others to comment.

Use cardboard covered by garbage bag moisture barrier. Bag will be reusable, cardboard not so much.

I have studied this photo a lot (it has been used a computer wall paper). The rocks on the left side look like remains of a mill - perhaps to grind grain.
