That is a lot to deal with, especially when she is so young. I hope she has good insurance coverage. Let us know how surgery goes.

I would look hard at doing those hard to reach things like water pump, serpentine belt, Idlers, PCV system, alternator brushes (?), and maybe the power steering hoses if they have not been renewed. Those hoses are a real pain to replace when they go bad.

Soapy water is a great leak detector if you have a couple PSI in the tank.
