Re: 1998 Volvo V70 GLT - Denver/Castle Rock area - $1
KHolden, it was a pleasure to meet you. Thanks for going over the bits and pieces on the V70.
She tracks true and 80 MPH is easy. The inline-5 sound is just wonderful. I've missed it.

Re: Non-Volvo car chat megathread
I just read an article about a lot of Kia and Hyundai cars getting stolen because they do not have an engine immobiliser system. volvolugnut Yep. A lot of insurance companies are dropping coverage on them, or refusing to insure them, because of it. I saw a commercial where they left their keys on t...

Re: Torque wrenches below 5 Nm and angle gauges
Nothing on a P80 is THAT finicky that you need to worry about that kind of resolution. Things don't need to be this complicated. Have a decent 1/2"-drive torque wrench that will get you to 250 lb-ft and a 3/8"-drive that will cover the smaller stuff. Anything smaller, use a proper-sized wr...

Re: Replacing exhaust manifold and gaskets on 96 R. Likelihood of breaking studs?
Wanted to follow up with a conclusion since I did this job today. I didn't break a single bolt or stud the whole time! For a 170k car that was sold new in Chicago, everything came apart remarkably smooth. Even the turbo to manifold nuts came off with no struggle. Hosing down all the fasteners with P...
