Re: What non automotive projects and repairs are you doing?
My LL Bean brown leather boot is a go-to for extreme weather for past 32 years - waterproof, snow, warmer, and/or pure labor. This pair was $200 in 1991. The outsole is one piece made of synthetic material which has been peeling away at the toe and heel; yard work last fall was a struggle with these...

Sonnax AW55-50 trouble shooting Guide
I'm not sure if this has been posted before but I looked around and didn't see it. Here's a little guide to help trouble shoot Automatic Transmission issues. Probably late for some that have already abandon their car because of these issues but could be good technical information for others. Cheers ...

Re: 1996 850 AWD Oil viscosity?
This morning just before 8:00... . D6263EE5-5F90-4D77-96F4-B46DDB04C860.jpeg . Nothing but Mobil 1 5w-30 and Chevron Supreme. (Only 90 octane here, but ZERO corn syrup ). At least 6 hours of plug-in time if she’s outside. And she’ll get to run for at least a half hour before she rolls. Or the heated...

Re: 737 MAX-9 preliminary report
Seattle Times - "Boeing survived and thrived, sustained by an engineering culture steeped in designing superior aircraft built to demanding tolerances. Its airplanes were industry-changing . The 707 in 1958 replaced prop engines and led the early jet age; the twin-deck, 360-seat 747, the indust...

Re: I coulda had an Antonov AN-2
The final chapter. Some sort of Haunted House adventure.
Dragged the Lincoln out of the way, aired up the tires, slapped the wheels on it and pulled it out into the street on its own gear. Must've been quite the sight crossing the Bay Bridge.

Re: Volvo/cars humor
Damn kids and their music.

Re: 737 MAX-9 preliminary report
Keep in mind these aircraft are all flying on the original Airworthiness Certificate issued ca. 1968. Since it was designed and built using SAE specs, that is the standard that has to be continued to keep Boeing from having to start over - you know, like they should have anyway.

Re: 60 years ago today I went to my first live music event...
To be clear, I couldn't hear any music over the nonsensical screeching of thousands of tween and teen girls in bobbysocks. They never let up, not for the whole show. The reason the band said they stopped touring wasn't sound system issues per se, it was the mob mentality of the crowd making it hard ...

Re: PSA - Volvo P2 v70 Long Cargo Interior Limits
Thanks - I guess I should add that a carabiner (a REAL one, with a rating stamped in in in Newtons of force, not one of the cheap fake aluminum ones that say "not for climbing") shoved into the latch on the rear door of a Volvo wagon is firmly held by the door latch and lock, and allows on...
