Even if the boots are split, you can replace them. You can buy aluminum blocks to hold the shock shaft and unscrew the lower mount off the shaft. If you want to keep the AWD, at least Colorado Driveshaft is just up the road in Denver. If you don't know, they are the #1 recommendation for repairing these driveshafts in my opinion and many others on this website have also recommended them in the past too.
