Re: Vacuum Leak I think
That zip tie looks like it's crimping the hose. Maybe try without it, to test?

Downtime of several hours on two mornings this past week
On the 16th and 19th MVS server was down for several hours both times. Something caused it external to the server's routine functioning. More on that below. Screenshot 2024-08-20 at 2.49.17 PM.jpg Both events maxed the memory and CPU, and those events caused the OS to kill the database each time, wh...

Re: RE: Vacuum filling coolant on Volvos
Neil: I have used the vacuum fill on my v70. I think they work great and I like that you can pull a vacuum on the system and see if it leaks down before filling. I have never had issues with it damaging anything. I bought an Airlift off Amazon about 10+ years ago because I had a Nissan xterra and it...

Re: Cooling system clogged?
I would call that a hot reading, though, not bad just yet. It's in no way severe enough to cause such overpressure that coolant seals break. There may be an engine tear-down in the future, but, it's not related to your radiator leak. I would still plan to do a dry and wet compression test, to ascert...

Re: Cooling system clogged?
The caps on these Volvos do go bad over time. It may help if you can find a way to measure the pressure that is created after a run. The caps if I recall are set to open around 15 psi (I've also read 150 Kpa). So if you are se more than that you may have a head gasket leak. If you are not getting th...

Re: Cooling system clogged?
Free the coolant reservoir from the mounting area and tilt it such that the small pipe is fully covered in liquid. This pipe connects down to the thermostat area which will allow any air to flow back into the reservoir.Watch it with the engine on and hot and see if you see a consistent stream of sma...
