Re: PLEASE HELP! OIL TRAP HOSE MISSING!
Your signature says it is a 2004 S80 - intake looks like a 6 cylinder. It appears your oil trap is for chassis number 240000 and up. Part number for the oil trap is 8670306 (as you posted), and the pipe you have showing could be 9497569. It is hard to tell from the pictures whether you have the righ...

Re: car won't start after completed cylinder head and timing belt replacement
I am a bit confused on the car's history. Past and present. What I gather is the serp belt broke and caused timing issues. To resolve this you rebuilt the top end. You are "pos" the timing is correct. For the car to run you need 1) Fuel; 2) Spark; and 3) air. What exactly is the car curren...

Re: Marker Light Receptacle
You are missing a few parts. The blue plugs are for water protection making a seal. Those go on the wire leads first and one slides them down after the metal crimp connector is inserted in the receptacle. Once in place it has barbs that should lock it in. Those connectors are missing. These connecto...

Re: car won't start after completed cylinder head and timing belt replacement
Do you have a code reader? Is the check engine light on? It is really hard to guess on what could be the issue without hearing the sound the engine is making. Is it popping and stuttering? Is it spinning slow or too fast. Does it run and die? Have you tried holding the accelerator to the floor to tu...

Re: Oil Trap Hose Missing
Look at the pictures. The side hose that you have going up, in all the pictures of the PCV box I pull up, comes with the unit. It appears to go to the left, driver's side and attaches somewhere facing the block at a distance of the hose length, further to the left. Left is to the right, but the engi...

Re: Acceptable Amount of Lateral Rod Bearing play
Some use their finger to smooth. Were it me I would go to the dollar store and buy a foam roller that comes with storage tray. If you keep it clean you can reuse the roller every time you use anaerobic sealant. I have heard mixed on pre-start. Some say prime others say no need. Me I would have put b...

Re: 2001 S60 problems
I believe the 2001S60 should have a built in module check function. Do some research, I have mentioned it in several of my posts, and if your car does have it run it and report back. The test will communicate to all the modules, one at a time, and if communication is not possible on one it will reve...

Re: Steering noise
First place to check is the bearing at the rubber boot. Follow the column all the way to the floor from the inside driver's side and have a look. If you cannot tell, take a picture of the junction and post. There is a big rubber boot there.

Re: Steering noise
I should have added - the fix is to push the bearing back down. Not much to it. If you do some searching you will find pictures of correct and incorrect. The set up is the same for just about any 2000 to 2010 Volvo (maybe more).
