Re: 1997 850 GLT Engine Swap
So, we had to replace the engine in my wife's '97 GLT last year. We went with another LPT engine ('01 RN motor) with half the miles on it. The N->RN swap wasn't that big of a deal. We stayed with the dist ignition (for now) and didn't mess with the VVT (yet), and just left it unplugged. We added a 1...

Re: 1997 850 GLT Engine Swap
The AC in the '97 GLT doesn't play nice with any other M4.4 ECUs. At least not that I discovered.
If you don't care about AC, and are planning on using an N HPT engine, then just throw a '98 HPT ECU in there.

Re: Ard green stage 2 ecu question
That ECU is from a '97 GLT, which is an M4.4 ECU. Your stock ECU in the '98 is also an M4.4., which means it should run fine. However, I have been messing with using flashed M4.4 ECUs in the wife's '97 GLT, and we did find out that the AC routines for the '97 GLT were different from the other M4.4's...

Re: P80 delta link time 3516122
A quick tip for making the old Delta Link bushings easier to remove. I just did all of the DL bushings in the wife's 855 a coupe months back. Run a drill bit along the top of the old bushing to break apart the (plastic) sleeve. (It was 5/16-ish, I think). Then it comes out with minimal fuss. Even ha...

Re: Car Stranded - Won't start, no click, lights on, no push start - 99 s70 base manual trans
Had it been hard/slow to start previously? It could be a bad starter/solenoid. We had the main power wire between the solenoid/starter motor go bad and eventually split on my old '96NA. It's kind of a short wire that's hard to see in the car. The car would crank slowly, especially more so when cold,...

My bet is that you have a dead starter.

Re: 97 855R PCV 5/8 hose mod, what vacuum hose?
None. I added a clamp on the manifold side, just to keep it in place. I think on the PTC side I just used a zip tie as a clamp (Didn't have any better options that I was happy with).

Re: '97 850 GLT ECU swap to T5
Chuck either I forgot or I never understood your solution: how did you make the AC work, was there some additional coding to an m4.4 bin? Erik. It took buying another -936 (97 GLT) ECU. Pulling the chip out of it. Buying the proper holder. Sending it to someone in Sweden who offered to read the bin...
