Re: To change engine oil or not?
If it's kept in a climate-controlled area when not in service, and you're using synthetic, I wouldn't worry about it, honestly.

Re: '97 850 2-1-1 SRS code
Well, the SRS light hasn't been back since the last reset a few days ago. I think that clock spring cable is the suspect, so I have another one on the way.

Re: VS M4.4 tuning dead? Start again here?
There were only 2 VS bins with the immobilizer removed, and those were the -607 and -608 HPT T5 bins. You'll need to start with one of those on a 98MY M4.4 ECU. Your car is an 850, correct, and not a V70? (I know there was some crossover in '97). As someone with a US-spec '97 GLT LPT B5254T with ori...

Re: Can I get my B5234T3 to start with salvaged electronics?
This additional wiring isn't all that difficult. The A side of the ECU connector is the engine stuff and the B are any body side connections. The stock harnesses split. I may have a couple links for PDFs I can add later. Now, if you want to keep it COP, then you'll at the very least need to chat wit...

Rad cooling fan cycling with AC - blowing warm- Check the relay
The past couple of weeks have been big time AC weather. I noticed that while sitting in slow traffic, the AC would blow warm-ish (or not as cold) out of the vents. The system is full of freon and the compressor is engaged w/o stopping. What I noticed was that the cooling fan would cycle ON-OFF every...

Re: Any luck at replacing low-side AC schrader?
Chuck, were you able to get it fixed? I'd forgotten about this post. Basically, I had to slightly open the system up and then rapidly shut the ball valve on the tool, after the schrader shot past it enough to allow it to close. After that I installed a shorter valve and topped off the system. Didn'...

Re: Stripped AC drier threads taking hose off
Mine did that to me too on the 854. Hunted down a used hose.

Re: 1996 Volvo 850 GLT N/A - Engine cooling fan doesn't run
I'm going to guess it's the fan itself.
Odd that it turned on when you unplugged the ECT, but seeing as you're replaced the relay (and verified that the connector/connections were good and clean), I would mostly rule that out as the culprit.
