Re: Broken Gas Door Hinge Fix

My local Ace Hardware has some removable plastic rivets with a pin that might work for attachment. They are in several sizes. I used some on the front bumper support.

Re: Broken Gas Door Hinge Fix

The panel work on the inside of the car and the rear fender arch prevent getting access to the holes easily. Also the fuel filler pipe and the solenoid make it more difficult. As 454cid mentions you can possibly reach in and pop the latch, but you would need to leave the inner panel off to give enou...

Re: Best Place To Break Through The Engine Compartment Firewall

It's the lid behind the fuse box (under the hood, next to the driver side hood hinge). There are 3 or 4 torx screws that need to be removed. And maybe the seal strip. 103 is the fuel relay, should be fairly easy to find.

Re: Broken Gas Door Hinge Fix

* Not sure how far along you are or what you've decided to do but here are a few more pictures on what I did in case you want to give this a try. Remove the tension ring and push the entire outer rubber lip inward to detach the rubber neck. Do not push the entire neck in too far. Next slide it to th...

Re: Best Place To Break Through The Engine Compartment Firewall

Plenty of room Around the relay bracket under the main fuse box. Be sure you zip tie off the wire so it doesn’t chafe against moving parts like the pedal cluster or steering gear.

Re: Broken Gas Door Hinge Fix

That tether clips over the top hook on the hinge on the OE part. Otherwise you get your issue with it getting in the way.

Re: Broken Gas Door Hinge Fix

* Do not drill! When I worked at Acura mid 90's as an entry level tech part of my job was to install accessories. Phones, entire AC (imagine that) and spoilers etc... The rear trunk was difficult to drill and the sheet metal was always rough looking. Getting rid of the burrs and roughness was alway...

Re: Best Place To Drill Into Center Console 1998 v70

Take the console out. It takes about 6 screws and a bit of jiggling to get the 2 x seat heater switches out and the center coin tray. Having done this many times I can probably do this in about 10 mins max. There are probably instructions here somewhere on how to do this. The one thing I find helps ...

Re: Best Place To Drill Into Center Console 1998 v70

Yup! Plenty of the car wiring is run along both sides of carpet doors areas. Stereo, fuel pump, brake lights, etc. Open doors, pull up the snap in place plastic sill kick plate, pull up carpet and you will see tons of wiring, Some enclosed in plastic cases. Carpet folds back down easily. Also, you w...

Re: Best Place To Drill Into Center Console 1998 v70

The carpet just tucks under the console. There's not really any adhesive holding it down. Removing the console is easier than you think. I watched Robert's video and it took me less than 10 minutes in the junkyard.
