Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)

I didn't know Volvo was so ahead of its time. Somewhere in my mind there's the story that EOBDII is only found on cars from 2002 and younger. My bad! In the U.S., OBDII was mandatory from 1996 and on. In Europe, EOBDII was mandatory from 2000 or 2001 and on, depending on when the model was first in...

The terminals are numbered on the control module. Look close at the mate for the connector.

Re: Volvo V50 automatic gearbox

It sounds like the transmission fluid's viscosity is too high when cold and comes within range after warming up ... When was the last time the transmission fluid was changed?

Re: 1998 S90 Cold Start problem

Your fuel pressure has a slow leak.
1. It could be a fuel line or fuel rail with a slow leak.
2. A leaky fuel pressure regulator bleeding fuel back to the tank.
3. Leaking fuel injectors.

Trace dye would find external leaks but not internal leaks.

Re: 1998 S90 Cold Start problem

Tell the mechanic the fuel pressure bleeds off over night and you got to let the pressure build back up before you can get it started. He should be able to take it from there.

The first couple of Km/miles is the heavy duty as everything get oiled and the temperature brings the mechanicals into spec. Giving it a head start on the oil up, makes a world of difference. Average length of d...

Re: Fog Light Not Working!

You don't need to fix anything. There is only one rear fog light. Two rear fog lights would get confused for break lights.

Re: Mechanical Tensioner needle will not move

Sounds like the new tensioner is not mounted correctly and the tab on the old one was broken. The tabs on the back side of the tensioner fits into the block and holds part of the tensioner steady.
