Re: new to me 1998 S90
I never did a write up. Attached is the Official Timing belt procedure, which is lacking. At the bottom there is a link to the engine reconditioning manual. On page 21 of the reconditioning manual, it tells you to remove the vibration damper to get the timing belt off. This is not necessary. On the ...

Re: 2004 V70 Will not start, possible issue with CAN bus
Pull the CEM and clean the electrical connectors with MAF cleaner then reconnect.
If that does not work, one at a time disconnect the BCM, TCM, ECM.
See if doing so re establishes communication with the other two control modules. One of the three may be defective pulling down a common CAN bus line.

Re: Replacing front passenger int door panel cloth
It looks like you cannot buy just the part you need new. New, you would need to buy the entire door panel for ~$400.00. There is a 2007 S40 at Pick-n-Pull 3419 Sunrise Blvd • Rancho Cordova, CA 95742 . Go get the part you need, take it to a upholstery shop and have it recovered. If your lucky the do...

Re: ODBII diagnosis
Anyway, my point was that OP asked about flash tools, and that ELM is hit & miss for the 850. Some people get it to work, with the Torque app or other apps, some don’t. I’ve tried several times, and the best I could get was sporadic command line connectivity with pretty useless replies. A lot o...

A Catalytic Converter is expensive and rarely go bad, replacing one should be a measure of last resort. Most of the time it is something else that cause the Catalytic efficiency code to trip. The cod...

Re: No spark after distributor
What happen is: When it was installed, the narrow key went into the wide slot on the cam. Somebody tighten it down and bent over the wide key which will not go into the narrow slot on the cam. When installing these one need to make sure it goes in and flat before one bolts it down. Try prying up the...
