Rear drain hoses are under the interior trim of the B pillar.

Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor Trouble
There are two different Crankshaft Position Sensors. Which one is correct depends on your Chassis number (Last six digits of the VIN number).
Chassis numbers up to and including 92351: Volvo part number 31331754.
Chassis numbers 92352 and higher: Volvo part number 31331765.
Chassis numbers up to and including 92351: Volvo part number 31331754.
Chassis numbers 92352 and higher: Volvo part number 31331765.

You need the harnesses from a 2003 or 2004. It all changed in 2005 per VIDA. The parts catalog being wrong is nothing new. Which harness you need, depends on if your tow is 7 pole, 13 pole or if you want the ability to switch between 7 & 13 pole. 2020-02-16.png 2020-02-16 (1).png 2020-02-16 (2)....

Lets point out the obvious, that mechanic cannot diagnose the problem. Sounds to me like, the mechanic did not want to mess with it because it is over his head, he took or created a way out for him.
