Re: Window regulator

Not too many have done the cable type regulators. The first generation C70 is the only one that has the cable type. The one you have is correct.

You want the rubber motor mounts. The motor has enough torque to bend the sheet metal.

Re: Timing issue during exhaust valve job

You have the VVT type that can be treated like a non-VVT unless the VVT to camshafts alignment was wrong to begin with. However you are going to pull the head. You have no choice but to remove the VVT. Everything will need to be timed from scratch. Align the crankshaft like you have done and then di...

Re: identifying left and right headlight wiper motors

If it were that simple I certainly wouldn't be bothering you guys! Maybe I'm looking right at the numbers but I can't find any. L for left bracket. IMAG0049.jpg Volvo part number 30882641 in the green box, is a left headlight wiper motor. The right counter part is 30882642. The numbers are easier t...

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)

bmdubya1198 wrote: 17 Mar 2020, 20:33 Well, I'm thinking it's probably a cracked cylinder wall. Probably not both.
Either way, I'm interested to see what you find out. With those compression numbers, there was a major failure!

Re: Timing issue during exhaust valve job

I'm just a bit unclear on how setting the timing from scratch looks like. You are lucky the one you got is easy. When you takeing off the VVT just remove the center cap and center bolt. Do not mess with the three small bolts. When you go to but it back together. 1. Put the VVT on the locked exhaust...

Looks like most if not all the scratches are in the clear coat. Clear coat can be sanded with 600+ wet and dry. Then a new clear coat applied.

Re: Aceleration problem from start

i'll do. thanks A smoke test on the intake is the best way to find air leaks. Might as well smoke test the exhaust system and the EVAP system while you are at it. The are plenty of tutors on how to make a smoke machine. The simplest version is a plastic hose and a Cigar. You can buy one or have a s...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I wanted to use new ones and couldn't find anything off the shelf so basically the whole job was shut down for a week You can reuse Copper Crush Washers IF you resurface them. Lay sandpaper on a hard flat surface. Work the surface of the washer on the sandpaper until it is flat again. Do both sides...
