I have since read somebody broke the crank stop trying to do that..that would not do..maybe something more significant in the crank stop hole... The correct counterhold tool is Volvo 9995433. About $40.00 on eBay. You can take two of the smaller bolts out replace them longer high grade bolts, wedge...

It is in a recess, tape or a collar on the bit to act as a centering guide until you get it started. Build the tape up until it matches the diameter of the recess. If all go according to plan the bolt will start backing out as soon as the bit bites.

I believe they are part number 31401351 also need the two green rubber gaskets that go between the cover and head..have not found the number (or name) for those anywhere. 31401351 fits 2005 & 2006 V50 2.4l & 2.5l 5 cylinder. It is clear not what year you have, your profile says 2005 and you...

That is where the VVT Solenoid or the dummy plug goes. Some have one VVT some have two.

The engine from the 2005 S40 is a B5244S4, code 38.

If you look above I was think of salvaging the internals in case somebody wanted them. Pistons new are $160.00 each. Connecting rods new are $200.00 each.

I just took a quick look at my "98 C70 to see where the line is heading.

The other end terminates at a air pipe. Nipple at the metal pipe.
