Re: 97 850 with chipped key ignition?

Thanks for the reply. Don't think this is the problem. He says that if he tries to start the car is starts but won't keep running. He also mentioned he had a 'healthy' 30psi at the rail. I gave him the bad news it should be 42 psi. I also gave him a link to the current thread on the pump relay and h...

Re: 1999 V70T5M56 ME7 batch fire or sequential fire of fuel injection

The powertrain management electrical diagram shows that each fuel injector on ME7 has its own ground (they have a common 12V)- I wonder if/why the still fire in only two banks? Bbbbxzzzzzzzzz Fail. ME7 fuel injectors have common 12V+ and each fuel injector is individually fired by grounding at the ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I understand. I had a lot of 'fun' with Rica Tuning when I told them I had a 2000 specification V70R. They could not get the program to work on my car until I thought to ask them to check the chassis type they thought I had. They thought I had a P2 as in Holland they called the 2000 year the first y...

Re: Importing a car from US to Canada

Clemens wrote: 20 Oct 2022, 13:13 Don't you have the Canadian pink slip anymore so you can simply reregister it?
Probably not, just thinking out loud.
It’s like Australia and Austria. Other than kangaroos, nothing in common.

Re: immobilizer on 96 EU models

I’ve swapped antenna rings on 1999 models without affecting function. It is just an antenna without any software or any other hardware , except a light.

Re: immobilizer on 96 EU models

On the 99-00 models over here, the antenna is purely a code reader. You can swap these without concern or any re-programming worries. I don't believe the Euro spec ones would be anything different. Our friend Xanethin has a good deal on knowledge on the systems and there is info on this thread I sta...

Re: immobilizer on 96 EU models

Untill s,v70 hit the EU market in '97....850s need immo box (with same part # as old one)with matching chipped keys. Ecu isn't coded but it will seek for "green light" from immo box. Chipped key transfers a code via antenna ring and sends it to immo box. Then...immo box sends "green l...

Re: immobilizer on 96 EU models

The immobilizer module Misha is talking about looks like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224173405239 And should be situated near the steering shaft, under the dash. The volvo schematics says on the right of it for a 96 850. Worst case if you have immo problems and the ecu is M4.4, you can flash a n...
